To All That Have Inquired About the DFO Team Tournament Trail Being Canceled For 2010:
The decision to cancel the 2010 season was Wayne Burchett’s, not mine. I know from the calls and e-mails I have received that there is a lot of people that is disappointed by this decision as well as me. I could not be more pleased with my involvement in the trail the last 2 plus years.
I do know that Wayne was pressured into cancelling the tournaments by one of his sponsors that was also listed as a sponsor of the trail. I totally disagreed with his decision, but it was his to make. The sponsor wanted to move all of the tournaments to North Carolina and out of Virginia and I disagreed. The Team Tournament Trail started in Virginia and was more than 95% supported by Virginia fishermen. Wayne and his crew did an outstanding job running the trail and I would like to thank them for it.
Also I would like to thank everyone that participated in the trail. Josh and I met some good friends and hopefully that friendship will remain. If there is anything that David Fritts Outdoors can ever do for any of you please let us know.
